This set includes five 3mm-thick sponge files in #400, #600, #800, #1000 and #2000 grits, giving model builders a practical progression for nub removal, seam cleanup, surface preparation and final smoothing.
Each file bonds a clog-resistant abrasive film to a flexible sponge backing that conforms to curved and contoured parts. The abrasive surface holds little water and the film stays bonded when wet, so it works well for wet sanding. The dense sponge can also be cut to the size or shape you need without crumbling or fraying at the edges.
